Axis Bank Post-doctoral Programme at Ashoka University
Ashoka University is inviting Post Doctoral researchers in the following departments: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology and Computer Science.
These candidates will be funded by Axis bank and will be called Axis Bank-Ashoka Post-doctoral Fellows.
Candidates who are interested in applying should note the following-
A mentor who is a faculty member at Ashoka should be contacted before starting the application process. A proposal drafted by the applicant, and submitted with the mentor’s approval, is required. Candidates should be advised to check departmental webpages for faculty interests to decide a potential mentor.
The following will be required for the complete application process –
- A cover letter providing the name of the mentor and indicating the overlap of interests with the mentor’s research
- CV of the applicant, providing academic trajectory, published papers and the names of 3 referees
- Copy of PhD and master’s degree certificate and any other relevant documentation.
- A joint proposal with the mentor containing a brief (2 pages or fewer), single spaced, including background, key objectives and significance) description of the proposed research project.
- Two letters of recommendation from among the referees listed

Once a candidate has been selected, a joining date can be decided by mutual consent. This should be within a month or sooner of the offer being made. The contract can be renewed, based on a satisfactory evaluation, for an additional year.
A candidate with less than two years of experience will receive INR 80,000 per month + 9% HRA along with medical insurance coverage of INR 1.5 lakh.
A candidate with more than two years of experience will receive INR 1,00,000 per month + 9% HRA, along with medical insurance of INR 1.5 lakh.
Appointments can be made as soon as possible.
Procedures: Selections will be made by a committee composed of representatives from the departments and chaired by the Assistant Dean (Research). Interviews can be held, if the committee decides so.
