Building a Collaborative Research Ecosystem at Ashoka

AGRA prioritises the development of Ashoka’s internal research ecosystem, ensuring seamless collaboration, strategic partnerships, and impactful research outcomes.

Facilitating Ashoka’s internal research environment to support a robust research and collaborative ecosystem is also an AGRA priority.

While Ashoka is privileged to have a number of offices that address international and research opportunities, AGRA works closely with all of these to ensure strategic alignment and efficient use of resources. AGRA convenes a Global Partnerships group that includes the Research & Development Office, Office of Global Education and Office of Graduate Studies. AGRA is also ensuring efficiency in external and internal communications, with an Ashoka Global hub/page on the University website and email IDs for enquiries that address the Global Partnerships group, AshokaGlobal@ashoka.edu.in.

Looking ahead, a newly formed Research Review Council (RRC), comprising the Vice Chancellor, Deans, and co-chaired by Chair – SAC – Professor K Vijay Raghavan, spearheads the tracking and reporting of Ashoka’s diverse research outputs. The RRC is actively working to cultivate a supportive and stimulating research environment across the University.

The Science Advisory Council (SAC) includes several world-leading researchers like Yamuna Krishnan (University of Chicago), Priyamvada Natarajan (Yale University), Jack Szostak (University of Chicago) and Rajesh Gpakumar (ICTS, Bangalore) which first met on 17 December 2024 at Ashoka University engaged with Deans, Heads of Departments and graduate students, to bring valuable and actionable insights to Ashoka from their experiences, rooted in India and placed in the world’s top research Universities. The SAC insights will feed into the RRC and filter through to the research & international partnership agendas.

AGRA looks forward to sharing success stories and developments with the Ashoka community and working together as we grow.
