Clubbing Entrepreneurially: My Transformative First Semester with Entrepreneurship Club

How Fireside Chats, Collaboration, and Creative Problem-Solving Shaped My College Journey

Joining the entrepreneurship club has been a transformative experience of my college journey so far. I came into the club with a desire to explore the private investing space and learn about the developments in the Indian startup ecosystem. The weekly sessions and fireside chats conducted with some of the industry experts and entrepreneurs have provided me with valuable insights about fields that I’m particularly interested in. A particularly memorable highlight is the recent opportunity I was given to moderate a fireside chat along with a fellow associate member where we hosted Mr. Himanshu Goyal (M&A Deals Partner, PwC) in the Centre for Entrepreneurship.

In the session, we delved deep into the know-hows of investment banking, mergers & acquisitions, business-scaling and industrial trends. This was not only a chance to discover invaluable industrial strategies, but also to network with a high-profile professional. Preparing for the talk taught me how to frame meaningful questions, engage an audience, and understand the nuances of leadership and strategy. It also helped me build confidence and polish my communication skills.

The club also emphasizes collaboration. It is inspiring to witness the team spirit among members, whether organizing workshops, running ideation sessions, or organising the Shatranj – The Entrepreneurship Weekender. Everyone brought something unique to the table—skills, experiences, and perspectives that enriched our collective learning. This environment of mutual respect and shared ambition made the club feel like more than just an extracurricular activity; it became a space of belonging.

One of the most defining aspects of my journey has been the opportunity to work on projects that demanded creative problem-solving and practical application of ideas. Brainstorming sessions with fellow members often turned into stimulating discussions, where different perspectives challenged conventional thinking and pushed boundaries. As I reflect on my journey, I am deeply grateful for the mentorship, opportunities, and friendships I have gained through the club. It has been a space of constant learning, where I have grown not only as a student but also as an aspiring changemaker. The entrepreneurship club has instilled in me a passion for innovation, and I look forward to contributing further to its growth.
