Reclining on Histories examines the female body as a site of flux, rest, and reimagination. The exhibition explores the duality of 'rest'—as pause and as residue—reflecting on the body’s historical denial of rest and its role in shaping ideals and art canons.  By reinterpreting figures from Indian art history and the Renaissance, the works engage with inherited artistic legacies while forging new paths, inviting viewers to reflect on rest, resistance, and the dynamic interplay between stillness and transformation. The artworks, in their own right, challenge us to question whose histories we rest upon and how we might reimagine them for the future!
