Ankit Sagwal and Zile Singh Sagwal

Ankit Sagwal is Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Aregence Capital. Aregence is a concentrated investment firm focused on public and private investments in emerging Asia (Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia).

Prior to founding Aregence, Ankit was a partner at Kora Capital, where he developed and managed the firm’s India and Southeast Asia investments. Before that, he worked at the Blackstone Group, as part of their private equity team investing in South Asia and at McKinsey and Company, where he began his career.

Ankit holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from IIT Delhi and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Zile Singh Sagwal retired as Country Manager at ONGC Videsh. He has been philanthropically active in areas of children’s education and social justice and spends his time volunteering with not-for-profit organisations.

He has over three decades of experience as a geophysicist in Oil and Gas E&P (Exploration and Production) with ONGC Ltd where he was responsible for greenfield exploration for the company. He has also spent over a decade as country manager and general manager for ONGC Videsh across multiple locations – Myanmar, Syria, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Cuba and Brazil. He was responsible for setting up and managing business operations through his extensive experience in technical exploration, and international partnerships and regulations.

He holds an MTech from IIT Delhi, a master’s degree in Physics from Kurukshetra University and an MBA from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
