Anupama Ambika Anilkumar

Ambika works as the Assistant Director at the RDO, in charge of conferences, meetings and workshops. She also works in close collaboration with the Development office of Ashoka in establishing fundraising and partnership possibilities with organisations in India and abroad. She is involved in establishing both national and international research collaborations and quite heavily invested in improving the research infrastructure at Ashoka.

Dr Anupama Ambika Anil Kumar is a trained chemist who transitioned into Cell Biology for her PhD at NCBS under the guidance of Satyajit Mayor. This was followed by her post-doctorate at St. John’s Research Institute in Bangalore in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, UK. She was supported by the NPDF fellowship and subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Newton Fellowship.

Post her academic research, she changed her career trajectory by taking up science diplomacy at the Embassy of France in India. She handled all of the academic and industry-related research and development projects between France and India. In addition, she was in charge of organising student mobility from India to France.
