I am Damanpreet Kaur, a postgraduate in Chemistry, currently enrolled as a PhD scholar. I am dedicated to advancing the field of catalysis for sustainable applications and addressing critical environmental challenges through innovative research.
My research focuses on computational studies and synthetic work in the field of catalysis, with a particular emphasis on addressing challenges in sustainable chemistry. I have worked in investigating CO2 reduction using dual atom catalysis, aiming to develop catalysts capable of efficiently converting CO2 into valuable multi-carbon products. This research holds significant potential for mitigating climate change by transforming CO2 into renewable fuels and chemicals. I have recently started working on developing pincer ligands to create an electrochemical catalyst for sustainable applications.
Besides I am also keen in exploring the nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) through advanced methods like photocatalysis and electrocatalysis. This interest aligns with the broader goal of producing ammonia sustainably, a key compound in agriculture and industry. By leveraging computational tools, I aspire to uncover new catalysts and reaction mechanisms to enhance the efficiency and selectivity of these processes.
