Gayathri K

YIF Class of 2021

B.Sc Visual Communication
MOP Vaishnav College for Women

Gayathri is filled with inquisitiveness and wonder. She loves to take responsibilities and started working at the age of 17, with a National lifestyle magazine, from which she slowly entered the field of media with expertise in Video, Content, PR, SMM, and Event Management. She worked as the Associate Producer for a Canadian marketing and production consultancy company called Makers and as a media consultant. Art makes her world and that made her pioneer the open mic scene for all kinds of art forms in Chennai in January of 2016.

She has co-founded and heads ‘Lost in Translation’, a forum for the upliftment of all artists that also works towards societal development. She loves to volunteer, especially with NGOs.
She is a graduate of visual communication from MOP Vaishnav, and an MBA in International Relations and Business from Amity University online. She has been featured in media including print, radio, and online for her work. In her free time, Gayathri indulges in poetry, writing, debates, SFX make-up, and photography or is probably just on Netflix.

Through the Young India Fellowship (YIF), Gayathri aims to break societal class disparity and bring about better community integration in society in various aspects. She is very passionate about education, feminism, and mental health. She hopes to find the sweet balance of all her interests in terms of holistic growth personally and professionally. She lives and breathes for stories, fiction or real-life, and is hoping to write, make and hear some experiences that would form an integral part of hers, at YIF.
