Ph.D. Manipal UniversityMadhusudan is a conservation scientist who has worked at the intersection of wildlife and human communities for over twenty-five years. As co-founder of the Nature Conservation Foundation, he helped develop an organization that brings scientific methods and social responsibility to conservation across India.
His research focuses on the relationships between people and large wild animals, contributing to both ecological understanding and conservation policy. Through work with local communities, government agencies, and scientists, he has helped create conservation approaches that consider both natural systems and human needs.
Currently a Visiting Scientist at the National Centre for Biological Sciences and Visiting Professor at Ashoka University, Madhusudan studies the history of India’s wildlife conservation and documents changes in its landscapes and waters. His work continues to bridge the gap between research and practice, seeking ways for wildlife and people to coexist.
