Mary Jane Arneaud

Mary Jane Arneaud received her BSc in Psychology, with first class honours, and earned her PhD in Psychology from The University of the West Indies – St. Augustine Campus. She conducted research as a Post-Doctoral Associate for two years at New York University Abu Dhabi and taught for one year as an Assistant Professor at Heriot-Watt University Dubai. She joined the faculty at Ashoka University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in 2024. She teaches Cross-Cultural Psychology and Organisational Psychology in the undergraduate programme in psychology. Her research interests are primarily in the relations among developing a sense of ethnic group belonging (ethnic identity), psychological functioning (psychological wellbeing), and functioning in society (social wellbeing). She has studied these relations across young adults in Fiji and Trinidad and Tobago.
