Ph.D. Psychology
Mohona Roy is PhD scholar in the department of Psychology working under the guidance of Dr. Simantini Ghosh. Her doctoral research focuses on gender based sexual violence and sexual offending behaviour. Her research interests lie in the areas of social psychology, gender, community psychology and exploration of social and normative determinants of human behaviour in general. She has completed her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, New Delhi and post-graduation from the Department of Psychology, North Campus, University of Delhi. Through various projects during her academic training, including her undergraduate and postgraduate thesis, she has had experience of research into psychological constructs of moral reasoning, gender role conditioning, work-family conflict, gender differences in academic performance amongst school students, advertising strategies and qualitative methods. She has had the opportunity to learn about the clinical side of the field through her role as an intern at the Dept. of Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi and as associate counsellor in the field. Besides academia she has also worked in the field of education administration. Outside work, she enjoys reading and music, in various forms.
