Nitish Kashyap

Nitish Kashyap is a Visiting Professor of Economics at Ashoka University. He has a M.A in Applied Economics from the Centre for Development Studies under Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Delhi. He previously taught at Miranda House and Daulat Ram College of the University of Delhi for a total of seven years. During this time he was also involved with CIET, NCERT as Subject Matter Expert & also served as Advisor to the CEO of New Delhi Municipal Council in a Pro Bono capacity.

His research interests include innovation systems, inequality, religion and capitalism & social epistemology. His most recent work was analysing the share of the Higher Education Sector in total R&D expenditure undertaken by firms in OECD countries and drawing policy lessons from it for developing nations. His interests are interdisciplinary and he likes to analyze social changes from multiple lenses.
