Priya Dutta

Dr. Priya Dutta is Senior Research Scientist of the Centre for Health Analytics Research and Trends (CHART) at the Trivedi School of Biosciences. Dr. Dutta is a climate change and environmental health professional with experience in working on addressing environmental health challenges-quantifying, communicating, and mitigating the risks associated with climate change. For the past 16 years, she has been working on environmental and public health related issues. Dr. Dutta holds a doctoral degree in Environmental health from ICMR- National Institute of Occupational Health affiliated from the Gujarat University and also trained in Environmental Health Sciences from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She has experience in non-governmental affairs, policy development and analysis, private sector project management and multilateral organization. Dr. Dutta has served for a decade as Environmental Health Consultant at Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) on NRDC, IIPHG and AMC collaborative works on developing, implementing and scaling Ahmedabad Heat Action Plan and Cool roof program. She has built local evidence on heat-health and also strengthened the capacity of knowledge partner/policymakers, like IMD and NDMA, to advance heat action planning nationally. She has published many articles in professional journals, book chapters and working papers.
