Dr Ramanathan Sethuraman

Ramanathan Sethuraman is a visionary leader with over 28 years of leadership roles in Healthcare, Multimedia, Retail, Automotive, and Surveillance domains. He has worked with pioneers like Intel Corporation, Silicon Hive [Intel Acquisition in 2011], Philips Research/Netherlands, etc. and created stakeholder value by leveraging his astute business acumen & strong technical skills. He specializes in building businesses from scratch and growing them into multi-faceted organizations, ushering in innovations & motivating a result-oriented culture. He holds 20 US patents and over 60 peer-reviewed publications. He completed his PhD from IISc, Bangalore and mentored 6 MS/Ph.D. students in the Netherlands.

Ramanathan Sethuraman has been working in the areas of Multimedia Algorithms and Architecture, Tech Research &Innovation in ASIPs and CPU/GPU Architecture, covering diverse sectors. This journey has shaped him into the progressive yet mature leader he is today. In the course of his journey with Intel, Ramanathan has strongly focused on AI-ML-DL-based Analytics covering the Healthcare Domain. He worked with academia, OEMs & ISVs to establish the relevance of Intel server HW. He also contributed to video architecture and multimedia/SOC architecture, owned platform architecture specs, piloted ground-breaking work on modelling multimedia use cases, and replaced architectural specs with executable models. He previously worked as a Media Architect in server-class products. He was acknowledged with Intel Division Recognition Award in Feb 2018 for establishing a structured academic research collaboration charter and leading research for the future; I2R Excellence Award in Dec 2017 for Ideas 2 Reality -I2R; and Intel Division Recognition Award in Aug 2014 for developing the integrating and optimizing a new secure composer for Miracast DRM support.

He has a progressive history of forming the Silicon Hive startup in Bangalore, inventing VSP (Video Signal Processor) at Philips Research/Netherlands, and productizing VSP (used in Samsung TV series9 and above) at Silicon Hive. At each of these organizations, he brought his personal business style to drive growth and increase stakeholder value. This success can be attributed to his technical expertise, customer-centric approach, belief in leveraging modern technology,
foresight, and open leadership style. Ramanathan drives his people to work towards a common goal while leading by example. A business-oriented yet empathetic approach helps him create a loyal team of go-getters.
