Shruti graduated from Fergusson College, Pune, with a specialisation in Sociology. Belonging to a region where education for girls is a rare phenomenon, she is deeply passionate about ethnographic research, aiming to engage with ethnic communities. Her goal is to uncover the reasons behind historical subjugations. Drawing from practical and grassroots knowledge gained from life experiences, she aspires to address global issues affecting these communities. Shruti is committed to improving higher education opportunities for the marginalised, especially girls. She is also interested in standpoint feminism and uses drawing as a means to express her ideas on paper, particularly focusing on social issues. Shruti believes that the YIF will be pivotal in strengthening her foundation. She looks forward to participating in various aspects, such as Critical Writing, which will enhance her academic writing skills for future research endeavours.
