Surender brings a diverse background to their role at Ashoka University. With a graduation in
Sciences with Chemistry Honors and Masters degrees in Mathematics and Economics, along
with a diploma in International Trade and Business Law, they combine academic excellence
with practical expertise. They have also cleared Level 1 of the CFA program.
Before Ashoka, Surinder held research roles in Finance and Economics, contributing to
impactful projects. As a nodal officer for the Ministry of Food and Public Distribution, they
evaluated public distribution systems across various states and Union Territories. Their work
with the Food Corporation of India and GiZ further honed their expertise in food procurement
and policy evaluation.
At Ashoka University, Surinder oversees the intricate task of University Scheduling, ensuring
seamless coordination across departments. They manage course mapping, cross-listing, and
registration processes, while being the key administrative guide for MLS students throughout
their academic journey. Their role pivots on creating a smooth academic experience for students
and faculty alike.
Outside the office, Surinder is a former competitive tennis player with an AITA ranking under
100, an avid trekker, and a lover of political memoirs, modern history, architecture and
socio-economic literature. Their life is a blend of professional commitment and personal
exploration.
