Tahir Hussain wani

Vidya Avasare's lab

I am Tahir Hussain Wani, a native of Sigdi, Kishtwar, in the picturesque region of Jammu and Kashmir. I hold a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Chemistry with a specialization in Organic Chemistry, both from Jamia Millia Islamia University. My academic journey has been fueled by a deep curiosity and passion for the intricate world of chemistry, particularly in the domains of catalysis and molecular synthesis.During my research career, I have undertaken several impactful projects. I contributed to the field of organic synthesis by working on the synthesis of supramolecular compounds, which have broad applications in materials science and molecular recognition. Additionally, I delved into the field of heterogeneous catalysis, where I explored novel catalytic systems for chemical transformations. These experiences shaped my research interests and deepened my fascination with catalysis, especially in designing sustainable, efficient processes with significant environmental and industrial implications.Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Chemistry, focusing
on the challenging and innovative area of C-H activation using heterogeneous catalyst. My research aims to unravel new pathways for molecule synthesis, emphasizing approaches that are not only efficient but also sustainable and environmentally friendly. The potential applications of this work extend to medical and biological fields, where new molecules can play transformative roles. I aspire to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of chemistry by exploring uncharted territories in molecular synthesis and catalysis. My ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between fundamental research and practical applications, aligning scientific discoveries with global needs
for sustainability and innovation.
