Tithi Bhatnagar

Tithi Bhatnagar is a Psychologist by training, a Well-being and Happiness Researcher and Teacher by profession, and a certified Positive Psychology Coach by Practice (trained with Dr. Robert Biswas-Diener, USA). Her doctoral research was in Subjective Well-Being (SWB) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Her professional experience combines industry, freelance consulting, academics, training, coaching, and advisory roles. She has served in various capacities in her previous roles, for example, working with Executive Board Members and Founders, serving on an Industry Research Board as a Social Scientist, leading a University School of Humanities and Social Sciences, working as Deputy Director of the Centre for Leadership and Change (CLC) and In-Charge of Capacity Building at a prior University in India.

Her doctoral dissertation was a pioneer work exploring the concept of subjective well-being (SWB) in India and developing a standardized measure and index to map SWB at individual and collective levels. Her book, “Subjective Well-Being in the Indian Context: Concept, Measure, and Index” (Springer Nature, Singapore), is based on that research. Additionally, she has edited a book, presented research papers at several reputed national and international conferences, and published nationally and internationally. Her expertise has been sought after on a global scale, as evidenced by her invitation to develop and launch her well-being interventions course from the revered International Society of Quality-of-Life Studies. Tithi is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Coaching Ethics (JoCE) and has been a guest reviewer for several journals. Her research interests include Positive Psychology constructs, mainly happiness and well-being, wisdom, well-being interventions, social development indicators, and leadership.

With over a decade of experience teaching research methods (both quantitative and qualitative), well-being and other discipline-related courses, she has trained over a few thousand educators and professionals (teachers, principals, students, Government officials, and Executives) on several important topics, especially on Positive Psychology and Research Methods. She is frequently invited as an expert speaker on panels and in faculty and professional/management development programs, and she is a regular speaker at conferences. A Gold and Silver Medallist for her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees, respectively, and an ICF-certified coach in training, she is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA), and the International Society of Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS). She is affiliated with the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS, IISc Campus), Bengaluru as an Hon. Adjunct Faculty, India.

She is a seeker, an avid reader and a composer, and has a deep love for music.
