PULP: Paper Recycling Project
Pulp – Ashoka’s Own Stationary Brand
A one of its kind paper recycling project committed to building an in-house stationery brand at Ashoka from the paper waste generated by the Ashoka community itself, ‘Pulp’ is committed to upholding the principles of the circular economy model, thus ensuring Ashoka embodies the values of sustainability in both discourse and practice.Â
Through waste paper collection boxes placed in over 30 locations across the university, the project seeks to build an ecosystem for the responsible and mindful disposal of paper waste which includes old books, loose sheets, notebooks and so forth which are then collected systematically and recycled into uniquely designed notebooks that can be used by the Ashoka community once again.Â
With partnerships with accredited and pioneering recycling vendors for the bulk collection and recycling of waste paper, and its subsequent production into fun and aesthetic stationery, this project seeks to set an example for how universities can create value through their paper waste and contribute to attaining the UN Sustainable Development Goals at the micro level.Â
